Task 4 – Looking into the future

  • 3 Self-set progression targets/goals with completion dates
  1. Get a job within the second year of college – 2017/2018
  2. Go to university after college (transport/automobile design course) – September 2018
  3. Get a job in transport design field – 2021/2022

  • Short 100-300 word, critical analysis on my thoughts about progression

After my second year of college, my aim is to go to university on a transport design course either in Stoke-on-Trent, Coventry or Swansea. The way I am going to get there is by continuing my hard work in college and aim for high results. I am also going to do loads of sketches of cars, my own designs, and ones that are real, and try to show my creativity and how passionate I am for being a car designer.

My ambition is to work for McLaren but the only way I am going to get there is from hard work and determination, even after university I could only be working for Ford etc., or be a freelance car designer, so maybe working through the levels might be necessary. At the end of my university course there is the chance to show off your work to family, students, and more but, also representatives from car companies will come down and if they think you’re are good enough will give you a chance to work for them.
